Dress Code

We hope your time spent at Oak Hill is enjoyable. 
The Club is proud to maintain its reputation as a premier country club in the United States by sustaining its traditions and commitment to excellence for the benefit of its members, their families, guests, and the Greater Rochester Community. 
A dress code is essential to preserve the tradition of attire relating to golf and social functions at Oak Hill Country Club. 
All members are expected to adhere to the following dress code. 
Proper decorum is expected. Members are responsible for their children’s and guest’s adherence to the following dress code.  
Enforcement of the dress code be handled by the Traditions Committee and the Board of Governors.
Our dress code applies to Men, Women, Children over the age of 6 and all Guests.

Men's Attire

Clubhouse Lower, Middle and Upper Levels 

- Golf attire is acceptable at all times in the Clubhouse unless otherwise specified for an event. 
- Men’s shirts must have sleeves and collars and must be worn inside one’s trousers unless designed to be worn outside like 'UnTuck It' and Bahama shirts. 
- Men’s slacks or shorts must be of a tailored nature. 
- Sandals/open toe shoes with leather uppers are permitted.

Women's Attire

Clubhouse Lower, Middle and Upper Levels

-  Golf attire is acceptable at all times in the Clubhouse unless otherwise specified for an event.
-  Women’s shirts and blouses must be worn inside slacks or skirts, unless designed to be worn outside. 
-  Women’s slacks, shorts or skirts must be of a tailored nature. 
-  Length of skirts, skorts, shorts or dresses must be of a tasteful and respectful length at all times, whether standing or bent over.

Golf Attire

Golf Courses, Golf Shop, Practice Areas and Snack Bars

Men
- Long trousers that are neat in appearance.
- Golf shorts or Bermuda style shorts must be mid-thigh or longer.
- Collared shirts, short and long sleeve mock turtlenecks shirts that are tucked in are permitted.
- Close toe shoes must worn at all times and have non penetrating spikes.

Women
-  Oak Hill follows the LPGA dress code guidelines.
-  Length of skirts, shorts, or skorts must be of a tasteful and respectful length at all times, whether standing or bent over. 
-  Sleeveless shirts must have a collar, crew neck or high neck. 
-  Shoes must be worn at all times and have non-penetrating spikes. 
-  Women’s shirts and blouses must be worn inside slacks or skirts, unless designed to be worn outside.

Unacceptable Attire and Practices
-  Cargo pants and shorts (cargo pockets defined as side exterior pockets). Side interior pockets are allowed. 
-  Denim shorts or pants (dungarees or blue jeans).
-   Men's shorts shorter than mid-thigh. 
-   Un-tucked golf shirts.
-   Tee shirts, tank tops and athletic team jerseys. 
-   Fitness attire (jogging suites, gym shorts, hooded sweatshirts, yoga pants). 
-   Hats or visors not worn with the bill forward facing.
-   Halter, tube, or strapless tops.
-   Changing shoes in the parking lot.

Sports And Recreation Attire

Men’s & Women's Attire

Sports Complex Building (Platform Tennis)
- Shorts (exercise or Bermuda), athletic type t-shirts, warm-up suits, leggings, caps, hats and visors may be worn in the Sports Complex Building.
- Proper footwear must be worn (sneakers) for Platform Tennis. 

Pool and Pool Café 
- No dress code

Tennis 
- Regulation tennis shoes (smooth-soled court shoes) are required.
- Collared and collarless tennis shirts are allowed along with tennis style athletic shorts.
- Collared, collarless and/or sleeveless tennis dresses are allowed along with tennis skirts/shorts must be of a tasteful and respectful length at all times, whether standing or bent over. 
- Tennis warm-ups are permitted.

Fitness
- No dress code. Shoes required. 

Denim Policy

-    Dark tailored dress jeans are permitted in the Clubhouse anywhere at anytime. Please note that gentlemen are encouraged, but not required, to wear a sport coat along with their jeans, and always when dining in the Oak Room. 
-    Jeans and athletic wear can be worn from the parking to the locker rooms and locker rooms to parking lot for the purpose of changing only. 
-    Dark tailored dress jeans are permitted in the Golf Shop and Ladies’ Card Room.
-    Dress jeans must be tailored, dark in color and free from holes, tears, frays and shall not be distressed, cargo, baggy or acid washed.
-    Women’s colored jeans are permitted.

Hat Policy

-   Men may not wear hats inside the Clubhouse, except on the lower level. 
-   Outside of  the Clubhouse, including the patios, hats and visors are allowed but must be worn with the bill forward facing. 
-   Women may wear hats or visors coordinating with their outfits in the Clubhouse.

Unacceptable Clubhouse Attire

-  Rubber flip-flops or plastic slip-on sandals are not acceptable. Men’s sandals with leather uppers are permitted.
-  Hats or visors (except as noted for ladies, see Club Hat Policy) in all areas of the Clubhouse except the lower level.
-  Cargo pants, cargo shorts warm-up suits, leggings, jogging, yoga pants and gym attire unless walking directly from the parking lot to the Fitness Center/ locker rooms using the lower level entrance. 
-  Athletic type t-shirts, including team jerseys. 
-  Apparel containing slogans.
-  Cut-off apparel. 
-  Denim that is ripped, frayed or has tears.
